Green Worldwide Shipping® (Green), a freight forwarder on a mission to become one of the most sustainable and responsible leaders in logistics, is proud to announce its founding membership in the GMA Trucking buyers’ alliance, an initiative led by the Center for Green Market Activation (GMA) to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission heavy-duty truck solutions.
PAVING THE WAY TO ZERO-EMISSIONS HEAVY TRUCKING SOLUTIONS
As a founding member of the GMA Trucking buyers’ alliance, Green joins forces with REI Co-op, Meta, eBay, and PepsiCo to overcome barriers and promote decarbonization in heavy-duty road transportation, which is responsible for over 3% of global carbon emissions. Through Green’s GMA trucking membership, Green’s customers will also have the opportunity to participate in this decarbonization work.
“We are honored to be part of this groundbreaking initiative because it aligns with our mission to provide environmentally responsible logistics solutions. By joining the GMA Trucking buyers’ alliance, we are taking a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint and encouraging the broader adoption of zero-emission heavy-duty trucking technologies across the industry.”

COLLABORATING FOR A GREENER FUTURE
This strategic collaboration supports Green’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions within the global freight industry and supports a transition to a sustainable future.
GMA Trucking will boost the market adoption of critical trucking technologies by leveraging a book and claim model to generate zero-emission trucking certificates. This approach has proven successful in other sectors through renewable electricity certificates (RECs) and sustainable aviation fuel certificates (SAFc). Green’s customers will have the opportunity to purchase zero-emission trucking certificates to help them decarbonize their domestic trucking.
GMA Trucking will release a Request for Proposal (RFP) later this year, and has now issued a Request for Information (RFI) to inform the RFP. GMA Trucking’s RFI seeks information from carriers who operate or are exploring the use of Class 8 battery electric trucks or fuel cell electric trucks. Potential respondents are encouraged to attend a September 17, 2024 webinar to learn more.
