LABOR ACTIONS CAUSE WEST COAST PORT OPERATIONS TO REMAIN STRAINED

International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) labor actions continued through the first shift today straining operations at several west coast ports.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Ports in Southern California are receiving insufficient union labor leading to a 40% reduction in vessel operations. Expect delays at Los Angeles and TTI.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Union workers are being dispatched in Northern California but productivity is low extending the time required to complete vessels. PCT is closed due to low volume.

There has been no impact to operations in and out of Vancouver and Prince Rupert. The U.S. East Coast and Gulf ports maintain operations as normal. The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) and ILWA scheduled meetings for this afternoon to discuss contract negotiations. The U.S. Federal Government is monitoring the situation.
